A 23-year-old Lloydminster man is facing several charges after allegedly crashing a Porsche SUV and stealing a truck from two Good Samaritans who stopped to help him.

The single-vehicle collision involving the Porsche Cayenne occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 303, east of Lloydminster, Sask. The SUV’s lone occupant, who was in need of medical attention, stole the Chevrolet Silverado of two Good Samaritans who stopped to assist him, according to RCMP.

Police say the Porsche was engulfed in flames when officers arrived.

The 23-year-old accused was arrested Sunday at a home in Lloydminster and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He’s charged with vehicle theft, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while disqualified and committing a common nuisance, and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance Sept. 1.

The Chevrolet Silverado has since been recovered, police say. The vehicle was found burnt near Perch Lake, north of Paradise Hill, Sask.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call Maidstone RCMP at 306-893-4800.The Porsche Cayenne was black with Alberta licence plate BGX0582.
