A former foster parent and hockey coach faced with several sex-related charges dating back to the 1980s and ’90s was found dead Friday, hours after Saskatchewan RCMP announced the alleged offences.

Thomas Donald Mark, 72, was found deceased in his home in Codette, Sask. around 10:30 p.m., according to RCMP. Police are still investigating the incident, but foul play is not suspected.

Mark, who was arrested Nov. 23, was facing nine sex-related charges after two men separately came forward — the first in August and the second in October — to report they were sexually assaulted. RCMP announced the charges around 1 p.m. Friday.

One of the men told police he first met Mark at an ice arena in Nipawin, where the accused worked doing maintenance.

There may have been other alleged victims, Mounties said early Friday.

Codette is located about 10 kilometres south of Nipawin.

--- CORRECTION: An earlier article, based on RCMP information, listed Thomas Donald Mark's age as 74. He was, in fact, 72.
