A 24-year-old Saskatoon man will be back in court on Friday facing charges in connection with a fatal house fire earlier this year.
Police have charged Aaron Daniel Pittner, 24, with criminal negligence causing death. He has been remanded in custody until his bail hearing on Friday.
Daniel Shepherdson, 60, died after a fire broke out in a four-plex in the 1800 block of Avenue D North in January.
Investigators determined a hot plate left unattended near some combustible materials sparked the blaze. Three of the four smoke detectors in the complex were not working at the time of the blaze.
