The man charged in connection with a historical homicide from 1985 made an appearance in a Saskatoon court on Tuesday. Dennis Henry Hahn, 65, is charged with first degree murder and unlawful confinement in the death of Frances Wendland in 1985.

Police say Wendland was killed by two masked men, while two of her daughters and a friend were locked in the basement of their home in Rosthern.

Hahn has been ordered not to contact 12 people including Wendland’s two daughters, and the other man charged in the case, Donald Marlow. Marlow was convicted of first degree murder for being an accessory in the case.

The crown indicated it will call Marlow as a witness.
