One man faces robbery and weapons charges and another suspect is being sought by police after a woman was robbed early Thursday.

Saskatoon police say two males, one armed with a knife, confronted a 52-year-old woman as she was leaving a restaurant in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West just after 2 a.m.

The woman was knocked to the ground and her wallet was stolen. She was taken to hospital with injuries suffered during the fall.

A 27-year-old man was arrested immediately by members of the Saskatoon police gang unit who were in the area, but the second suspect escaped.
