A 19-year-old man is facing charges after breaking into a care home and then fleeing police by jumping on roofs early Thursday morning.

Just before 2 a.m. police were called to the 1400 block of East Heights after a suspect broke into a care home and then fled.

Police on scene called for the air support unit to assist in the search for the suspect. Officers involved with the air support unit found the man on the roof of a residence adjacent to the care home. He attempted to flee police by jumping on to another roof. Police eventually negotiated the man off the roof and arrested him without incident.

The man is facing charges of break and enter, obstruction and breach of probation.
