Saskatoon police say a man who thought he was meeting someone he’d met on an online dating site was robbed Monday morning.

The 20-year-old told police he was visiting a suite on the 200 block of 28th Street West, to see someone he’d met online, when he was confronted by two armed, masked men.

The pair was wearing balaclavas and armed with a long-barrelled gun, according to police. They stole the man’s keys and cellphone before fleeing the scene.

The victim was not injured.

His vehicle, a 1991 Ford Mustang, may have also been stolen, police said.

The robbery occurred just after 9 a.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
