A 49-year-old man is facing charges in connection with two Saskatoon robberies.

Police said in a media release the man was arrested Friday after officers identified a suspect in a recent street robbery at 20th Street and Avenue P.

Officers spoke with witnesses and watched surveillance video to identify a vehicle involved in the Wednesday morning robbery. They were then able to identify a person of interest.

The man was charged with robbery in relation to the Wednesday incident and charged with theft under $5,000 and assault with a weapon in connection to an incident Jan. 18 at a 33rd Street grocery store, police said.

He is set to appear before a Justice of the Peace Friday evening.
