Police are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows after a suspicious man reportedly entered an apartment and touched a sleeping woman, then moved to a different apartment and stood in a child’s bedroom.

“The Saskatoon Police Service is advising residents to ensure they secure their property following two incidents which occurred early yesterday,” a media release sent Monday from police stated.

The first call to officers came just before 4 a.m. Sunday. A woman at an apartment on the 400 block of 115th Street East reported being woken up by an unknown man touching her.

The man fled the scene, she told police.

The next call came in minutes later. A person in a nearby apartment reported hearing a suspicious noise before he witnessed an unknown man standing in his child’s bedroom.

Again, the suspect fled.

“It is believed the male entered the homes through patio doors,” police said.

No one was hurt in either incident, according to police.

The suspect is described as about five-foot-10 to six-feet in height and 200 pounds, with light-coloured hair styled in a brush cut. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a grey zip-up hoodie, jeans, and white or light-coloured running shoes.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
