It's official – Saskatoon is getting a lingerie football team.

After the official announcement last week that the Lingerie Football League had extended a franchise to Regina, there were rumours that Saskatoon would host a second team in the province. Tuesday morning, the LFL confirmed the news, and announced that the bridge city will host a team at the Credit Union Centre.

Saskatoon is the fourth Canadian city to join the LFL.

The first game of the season will be September 1, 2012.

The LFL is even asking fans to submit ideas for the eventual team name, by emailing submissions to LFLinSaskatoon@LFLUS.com

Will Lofdahl, the CEO of Credit Union Centre, said in a release that he expects the lingerie-clad team to draw crowds.

"The current level of excitement, fanfare and media attention around LFL Football coming to Canada will certainly translate in our city and building, especially considering the rivalry that will surely form between us and Regina."
