A late night fire in Saskatoon caused thousands of dollars in damage Friday.

Just after 11:30 p.m., fire crews responded to 219 Grant St., where heavy smoke was seen coming from the back bedroom.

A woman and her teenaged son were evacuated from the home and the fire was out within five minutes.

The Saskatoon Fire Department says the cause of the fire was accidental due to candles in the bedroom.

Officials say there were no injuries and damages are estimated at $20,000.
