A kitchen fire in Saskatoon caused $75,000 worth of damage Saturday morning.

Fire crews were called to 220 Avenue E South just after 7 a.m. Smoke was showing from the house when firefighters arrived.

Crews contained flames to the home’s kitchen and needed just over 20 minutes to control the blaze.

No occupants were in the house. The homeowners and an occupant showed up to the scene as crews were fighting the blaze, the Saskatoon Fire Department said in a media release.

The fire, which started in a toaster oven, has since been deemed accidental. Damage is estimated at $75,000.
