Tim Jelinski is the newest member of Great Saskatoon Catholic Schools board of education.
Unofficial results show Jelinski won Wednesday’s byelection after receiving 389 votes, more than 100 votes ahead of runner-up Darren Canell.
Cannell received 271 votes to finish second, while Gail Cassidy picked up 259 votes, Mike Cey had 209 votes, Jennifer Carruthers 186 and Bernadette Mooney 45. Voter turnout was just 2.7 per cent.
Official results will be announced Friday morning.
The byelection was necessary following the resignation of Fred Wesolowski.
