A 50-year-old inmate at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary died en route to hospital Christmas Day.
Darcy Charles Alexson was serving a sentence of two years and two months for several charges including possession of a prohibited firearm, impaired driving and drug possession.
He died while travelling to a Saskatoon hospital from the Prince Albert penitentiary, Correctional Service Canada said in a media release.
Police and the coroner were notified. Corrections will be reviewing his death.
