Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be in Saskatchewan on Wednesday.

It's his first stop in the province since a visit to Regina during the 2011 federal election campaign.

Harper will be in Air Ronge to make an announcement at Northlands College along with Michelle Rempel, the minister of state for western economic diversification, and Rob Clarke, the member of parliament for the northern riding of Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River.

The prime minister will then head to Saskatoon for a private event Wednesday evening at Prairieland Park where he will be joined by members of the western caucus.

Idle No More oranizers have indicated on social media that a protest is planed for Harper's Saskatoon stop.
