Saskatoon police say no charges were laid after a weapons call Friday prompted a heavy police response in the city’s Buena Vista neighbourhood.

Officers received the call at around 10:30 a.m. Tactical unit officers responded and the armoured BearCat vehicle was sent to the scene.

Police say a witness told officers a man with a gun was in the basement of a home on the 400 block of Craig Street and was upset.

The 38-year-old man who was in the house exited unarmed after police ordered him out of the home. He was taken into custody before he was transported to Royal University Hospital for treatment, according to police.

A pellet gun and a knife were found inside the home.

No one was injured.
