Forest fire smoke creating hazy skies across Saskatchewan has prompted an air quality advisory from Environment Canada.

Smoke from the Northwest Territories entered the province Tuesday and is slowly moving eastward. The smoke is expected to become less dense during the day Wednesday.

Environment Canada says air quality sensors across the province indicated elevated particulate matter and reduced air quality Wednesday morning.

The statement says the smoke may pose a health risk to children, the elderly and those with respiratory problems. People in good health are advised to consider reducing strenuous outdoor activities.
