Five teenagers who were rescued after being missing for several days in northern Saskatchewan last month are now facing charges.

The five youths, who are between 13 and 17 years old, have each been charged with break, enter and commit an indictable offence, RCMP said Thursday.

Searchers rescued the five teens from Malcolm Island on Reindeer Lake last month after they failed to return from a moose-hunting trip.

The charges against them stem from a damage complaint filed by the owner of a private wilderness lodge on the island.

The five teens – four boys and one girl – are scheduled to appear in youth court in Southend on Jan. 29.
