A teenager lighting fireworks on an acreage in the R.M. of Corman Park caused a grassfire Monday, according to the Warman Fire Department.

The fire department was called to the acreage about two kilometres northwest of Warman just before 4:30 p.m.

Officials say the fire had spread and was about five metres away from the home when crews arrived.

The flames were put out before they reached the home, but two vehicles and a trailer were damaged.

Crews spent over an hour putting the fire out. Nobody was injured.
