Three Saskatoon firefighters will be heading to court this fall. They all pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an altercation with police last month. They’re accused of assaulting a police officer and obstruction of justice.

It all stems from an alleged brawl that police say took place somewhere near the north end of the Broadway Bridge. Early morning on Sunday, August 12, police say they say two men fighting. When officers got involved to break up the fight, the two men, along with a third bystander, got into an altercation with police.

The three men were off duty Saskatoon firefighters.

Police called for back-up and the three firefighters were eventually arrested. Clifford Hamilton, Jeff Tysdale, and Keith Walliser have been suspended with pay.

The trial has been set for November 19.
