It took fire crews around five minutes to control a suspicious garage fire on Avenue L South on Saturday evening.
Crews responded to the call around 8:00 p.m. Saturday. The garage at the back of the property was fully engulfed in flames. The house appeared to be vacant and was not involved in the fire, the fire department said in a news release. The release also said there were a number of needles inside the garage, creating hazards for the firefighters.
No one was inside the garage at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. There is no word on the cost of the damages.
The fire department said the fire appears to be suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.
