A lobby group wants Saskatchewan Crown corporations to be more upfront about travel expense claims.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says in 2013 Crown officials claimed almost $750,000 for out of province travel.

But Todd MacKay, a federation spokesman, says there was no cost breakdowns on how the public money was spent.

MacKay says the Crowns could follow the example of the City of Toronto and simply post all travel receipts online.

He says taxpayers are forced to make freedom of information requests to see details of the travel expenses.
