The federal government is phasing in 16 information hubs with helpful advice for farmers.

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz made the announcement Monday in Saskatoon.

Farmers will be able to call the centres and get advice on growing and selling their products from experts in certain fields.

One of the centres will be located in Saskatoon. It will focus on grains and oilseeds, plants with novel traits and fertilizer industries.

Ritz says the centres will be phased in over the next few years at no added cost to taxpayers.
