There were tears and tributes as a mother and three young children killed in a murder-suicide last week in Tisdale were laid to rest Friday.

A funeral service for Latasha Gosling, 27, and her children — Jenika, 8, Landen, 7, and Janayah, 4 — was held in Nipawin, a northeastern Saskatchewan town located just north of Tisdale.

Gosling and her children were found dead April 22 in the family’s mobile home. RCMP said their killer then took a six-month-old baby from the home and drove to a home in Prince Albert, where he killed himself, but spared the child.

The infant, who is the child of Gosling and the suspected killer, is now in the care of family members.

The funeral service, held at Nipawin Alliance Church, follows a candlelight vigil Wednesday night in Tisdale. The vigil saw more than 250 people pay tribute to Gosling and her children.

CTV News was given access to the funeral by the family so that those who weren’t able to attend could see parts of the service.
