An elderly man hit by a vehicle in Saskatoon while riding a motorized scooter has died in hospital.

Police announced his death Friday, two days after the 78-year-old was struck by a northbound vehicle while crossing Central Avenue at 109th Street.

Police initially described his injuries as non-life-threatening, but, on Friday, stated his condition worsened while in hospital.

A 33-year-old woman was charged with failing to yield following the crash. Police did not state Friday if more charges would be laid.

The collision is still under investigation, according to police.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
