A teen is facing charges after a dog was killed during a break-and-enter at a home in Melfort.
Police received a complaint about the break-in on Dec. 28. When they arrived, they found that a dog had been seriously injured.
The dog was taken to a veterinarian, but did not survive. The dog’s owner was not present at the time of the incident.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with one count of break-and-enter, one count of injuring or endangering an animal and one count of failure to comply with probation.
The teen will appear in court in Melfort on Jan. 3, 2017.
