A CTV Saskatoon special that explored the lives and challenges of people with brain injuries has received national recognition.

"Chasing Normal," produced by news anchor Chantel Huber and cameraman and story editor Damien Kent, received the Trina McQueen Award in the category of news information program at the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) conference held during the weekend in Toronto.

The RTDNA awards are considered the most prestigious awards in Canadian news broadcasting. Competition includes almost every television and radio station in the country along with the main networks.

The award was one of three won by Saskatchewan CTV stations.

Dale Hunter and photographer Gareth Dillistone of CTV Regina won for "Return to Willowbunch," about a grandfather admitting to the sexual abuse of his granddaughters. "Project First Goal" by CTV Regina's JC Garden and Dillistone, about members of the Regina Pats touring Vancouver's mean streets and sharing what they learned with students back in Regina, also picked up an RTDNA prize.

The RTDNA is the professional voice of Canada's electronic journalists.
