The victim of a fatal crash in Saskatoon is being remembered through a scholarship.

Seventeen-year-old Sarah Wensley and James Paul Haughey were killed in a crash on May 5. The teens were on their way to a track and field practice when their vehicle was struck by another vehicle and pushed into a medical building on 22nd Street.

Sarah’s aunt, Karen Wensley, said she wants to remember her late niece by creating a scholarship fund for athletic youth.

“Her death was so tragic and so senseless that I wanted something good out of it,” Karen said. “From going to that to a scholarship, I thought it would be the best way to remember Sarah and also for her name to live on.”

A fundraising concert in memory of the late teen called “Triumph from Tragedy” will take place on Sept. 4 at O’Brians Event Centre.
