The circumstances surrounding the death of an inmate at Saskatoon’s Regional Psychiatric Centre are under investigation.

Correctional Service Canada is reviewing the death of 72-year-old Ralph Folster, who died earlier this week at the facility. Police and the coroner have also been notified.

Corrections officials do not consider the death suspicious.

Folster began serving a sentence for rape, forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm in 1971.

His next of kin has been notified of the death, according to the correctional service.
