Buses won’t be running for some Saskatoon students as they head back to school Tuesday morning.

Saskatoon Transit says a maintenance backlog means it won’t have enough buses to operate its high school special and the university and downtown direct routes.

And there won’t be the additional buses that are usually added to some high-traffic routes during peak travel times.

The implementation of new express routes for Parkridge, Willowgrove and Kenderdine has been delayed, along with the new Route 26 serving Clarence Drive and the university.

All regular and DART routes are operating, as well as the College Park to St. Joseph High School special and the Caswell School special.

New temporary services that begin operating Tuesday will see shuttle buses running from The Centre mall to Holy Cross High School and Walter Murray Collegiate and from the Confederation bus terminal to Bethlehem High School and Tommy Douglas Collegiate.

Saskatoon Transit says service alerts will help keep customers informed if a route is at capacity and unable to pick up more passengers. Saskatoon Transit Service Alerts are available online at saskatoon.ca and are shared on Twitter and Facebook.
