The body of a missing 87-year-old Saskatchewan man has been found.
John Maxwell Purcell was found dead Friday afternoon inside his truck, RCMP said in a media release. The truck was in the Red Deer River about eight kilometres south of Hudson Bay, Sask.
RCMP and members of Purcell’s family spotted the truck as they were searching via helicopter for the missing man.
“The area where the vehicle was located has many trees and there is a sharp drop off into the river where the truck came to rest,” Mounties said. His death is not believed to be suspicious.
Purcell had last been seen the morning of Sept. 25 leaving his home just south of Hudson Bay.
