The Saskatoon blades set a new WHL record Friday night with their 14th consecutive win.

The team clinched the title with a 7-4 win against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Part of the win can be attributed to a hat trick by Matthew Stransky. “It’s just fun. I’m just playing my game. I’m happy I can play with Walker and Ferland because they’re great players,” Stansky said after the game.

“It feels good. Especially when I scored those three goals it gave me that extra confidence,” he added.

The previous record, set in 1998, was also held by the blades.
