The historic Bessborough Hotel debuted the efforts of their recent renovations Tuesday, but the new look is a throwback to nearly 100 years ago.

The historic "Castle on the River" hotel was built in 1928, and the new renovations were completed with that history in mind. Furniture and fixtures were picked out with the goal to merge the modern comforts of the hotel - like iPod docks and flat screen TVs - with the art deco design of the roaring twenties.

Andrew Turnbull, the Bessborough's general manager, says everyone involved worked to incorporate touches of the past into every room.

"We've used original blueprints, which are stretched on canvas. We've incorporated the crest from the hotel's opening day menus, which is the Bessborough family crest, the Earl of Bessborough, into an accent pillow on the beds."
