A barbecue fire caused an estimated $200,000 worth of damage to an apartment building Saturday afternoon.

The Saskatoon Fire Department was called to an apartment fire at 219 Avenue N South around 1:05 p.m. The fire broke out on the third floor and was caused by a barbecue left on after cooking, the fire department said in a media release.

It took crews 25 minutes to control the blaze. No one was in the apartment when the fire started and no one was injured in the fire.
