BONNYVILLE, Alta. -- RCMP say a 47-year-old B.C. man was arrested after an erractic driver was reported near the northern Alberta hamlet of Ashmont.

Philip Robert Crosby of Hudson's Hope, B.C., is charged with dangerous driving, operating a motor vehicle while pursued by police and breach of court undertaking.

RCMP say Crosby was also wanted on eight additional charges out of Saskatchewan.

Mounties say one of their officers spotted the suspect vehicle on Thursday but after attempting to stop it, it continued on, passing other vehicles, and swerving in and out of its lane.

RCMP set up roadblocks and cleared the highway of oncoming traffic, successfully disabling the vehicle in the town of Bonnyville.
