Seven people are facing charges following an armed robbery in an east-central Saskatchewan community.

RCMP say three people from Saskatoon were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday in Kandahar, Sask. One of the victims was forcibly confined and assaulted with a weapon, according to police.

Four suspects were arrested shortly after the incident, and another suspect was taken into custody the next evening. The final two suspects were arrested on Highway 6 in what RCMP consider a high-risk take down.

Five adults and two youth are now facing drug, weapon and other charges in connection to the alleged robbery.

Mounties say three of the adults have been remanded into custody and are set to appear at a later date in Yorkton court. The remaining four suspects have been released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in Wynyard Provincial Court on Jan. 26, 2017.
